OUR HISTORY

As the only ethnic Alumni Association at UCLA with its own 501c3 status, UBAA's roots trace back to Former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley and the efforts that he and others such as Larry Hollifield, Herschel Ramsey and Winston Doby initiated to organize Alumni of color.  



From the first fundraising dinners, Black Alumni Reunions and counseling programs to the official incorporation of the organization, a number of people played key roles in getting UBAA where it is today. To them we pay homage and esteem to continue to grow their vision and pass on an ever vibrant legacy of commitment and service.  Our Past UBAA Presidents are shown below.
